Here are a just a number of ways on which to get them on the path to healthy eating that nourishes the heart and, the rest of the body.
Water and Skim Milk: These are the perfect liquids for children. Other than these are beverages of all colors, sizes, and flavors that are loaded with sugar and calories that do nothing for them.
Veggies, Fruits, and Whole Grains: Heart-healthiest foods. You may also complement these with low-fat dairy and meat with the fat trimmed out.
Everything in moderation: We understand your desire for them to not miss out on the pleasures of eating so fried, fatty, baked foods and desserts are okay as long as you encourage them to practice portion control.
Breakfast: The most important meal of the day that should never ever be skipped! This first meal of the day is extremely important in regulating your children‘s metabolism.
Lastly, eat together as a family because then your children will learn to associate healthy eating with family bonding.
